Checkpoints: Which Waves Gate Them and Where Your Next Run Starts
What checkpoints are in Be The Final Boss, which waves gate them, which boss stands at each gate, and what clearing one actually changes about your next run — every number read off a frame.
Clear the gate wave and your next run begins on the wave after it
A checkpoint is a wave you keep. The HUD counts down to the next one under the wave bar, the gates sit every 25 waves — 25, 50, 75, 100, 125 and 150 all appear on screen in the footage we checked — and each gate ends in a boss fight. Finish that wave and the game prints CHECKPOINT CLEAR with the exact wave your next run starts from, so dying later no longer sends you back to wave 1.

HeyranLy is a low-view channel used here for the first time, so its panel figures are read off the screen and dated rather than treated as developer numbers. Every checkpoint wave, boss name and restart line on this page was read from a full-resolution frame on that date, and the ladder is only shown as high as this footage reaches.

Read the checkpoint counter under the wave bar
During a run the HUD carries two lines below the wave bar. In this frame the bar reads Wave 39, the first line reads “4 left 2/6 Next Checkpoint: 50”, and the second line names the boss waiting at that gate: “Wave 50: Grand Inquisitor”. The yellow badge at the top of the screen reads Wave 25 — the gate this run started from — so the counter, the boss line and the badge together tell you where you are, what is coming, and what you would lose if the throne fell.

Two lines under the wave bar do all the work: how many heroes are left, and which wave gates you next. Watch at 1:40 - 2
Clear the gate wave and the game states the rule
The first gate is wave 25, and the HUD still reads “Next Checkpoint: 25” while you are fighting on it. Beat it and a yellow CHECKPOINT CLEAR banner drops across the courtyard with the rule written out: “Wave 25 cleared. Next run starts at Wave 26.” The counter underneath has already moved on to “Next Checkpoint: 50”, and the wave bar has ticked to Wave 26 — the run you are in keeps going; the banner is about the next one.

The first gate is where the game writes the rule out for you — after this the counter just jumps to 50. Watch at 5:39 - 3
Your cleared gates are counted on the STATS panel
The same banner appears over the STATS panel a gate later: “CHECKPOINT CLEAR” with “Wave 50 cleared. Next run starts at Wave 51.” The panel underneath keeps the running record — Online Time 0d-0h-37m, Check-in Days 2, Highest Wave 58, Heroes Defeated 806, Summon Rolls 109, Summons 9, Checkpoints Cleared 4. Note what that last line counts: with a highest wave of 58 only the 25 and 50 gates sit below it, so 4 is finishes across runs, not distinct gates reached.

Same banner over the STATS panel one gate later, where the account keeps a running count of clears. Watch at 3:50 - 4
Every gate names its own boss, well before you reach it
After the 50 gate the HUD does the same job one rung up. The bar reads Wave 52, the counter reads “4 left 0/4 Next Checkpoint: 75”, and the boss line has already switched to “Wave 75: Rebel Captain” — more than twenty waves before you meet it. That lead time is the practical use of the line: it is when to have a tank in front and enough single-target damage behind it, not a factoid. Our frames name the boss for waves 25, 50 and 75 only.

The gate boss is announced more than twenty waves early — treat that line as the warning, not the trivia. Watch at 4:00 - 5
The ladder keeps stepping by 25 waves
In a separate recording the badge reads Wave 100 — that run started from the 100 gate — while the bar counts Wave 108 and the line below reads “1 left 4/5 Next Checkpoint: 125”. Later in the same video the badge has moved to 125 and the counter to “Next Checkpoint: 150”, so the 25-wave spacing holds well past the early game. We do not show a boss name for any gate above 75, so none is claimed here; the site’s wave database carries the later names from separately reviewed footage with its own sources and dates.

Deep in the ladder the shape never changes: badge for where you started, counter for where you stop again. Watch at 20:12
