How to Get Fusion Shards Fast in Be The Final Boss (Update 2)
Update 2 buffed Fusion Shard drops. Here is every confirmed shard source — 44 shards from codes, the Shard Storm window, and which units deserve them.
Update 2 explicitly increased Fusion Shard drop rates, which changes the math on shard farming. Shards were the main bottleneck on unit upgrades before the patch; now the bottleneck is closer to deciding where to spend them.
Here is every confirmed source, ranked by how much they actually give you.
Codes are worth 44 shards right now
This is by far the largest single-session haul available, and it requires no farming:
| Code | Fusion Shards |
| ---------------- | ----------------- |
| armyofbosses | 15 Uncommon |
| bigthroneking | 10 Uncommon |
| raidthecastle | 6 Rare |
| bossman3000 | 5 Rare |
| cantkilldaboss | 5 (tier disputed) |
| finalboss4life | 2 Epic |
That is 44 shards across six codes, plus Forge Stones and Spin Tickets bundled alongside them. Redeem through the gear icon in the top-left, then the code box at the bottom of Settings.
Two accuracy notes. Trackers disagree on bigthroneking — some list 10 Uncommon, others 5 Rare plus a Luck Booster. They also disagree on whether cantkilldaboss gives 5 plain or 5 Epic shards. Both are logged with their conflicting sources on the codes page; check your own redeem toast.
Shard Storm stacks two separate bonuses
Shard Storm is the dedicated shard event, and it is stronger than the headline number suggests because it applies two effects at once:
- Fusion shard drop chance ×1.3
- One additional drop attempt per kill
The multiplier alone would be modest. The extra roll per kill is what makes the window matter, since it scales with how many heroes you kill rather than with your existing drop rate. Shard Storm runs 5 minutes, with the next event starting 10 minutes after the current one ends.
The practical consequence: Shard Storm rewards clear speed more than any other event. If you have a Coin Booster or an attack buff to burn, this is the window to burn it in. All three weather events and their multipliers are on the events page.
Everything else is just kill volume
Outside codes and Shard Storm, shards drop from defeating heroes — with the Update 2 buff applied globally. There is no separate shard-only activity, which means shard income is again a function of clear speed.
The same lever applies here as with Souls: a formation that clears waves faster earns more of everything. If your shard income feels flat, tune the formation rather than looking for a farming trick. The team builder and best layout guide cover placement, and compressing your damage near the enemy entrance is the widely reported way to cut hero travel time.
Spend them on Demonic units only
This is where most players lose value. Third-party tier lists are consistent on the point: Shiny and Cursed units are generally not worth upgrading, because Demonic mutations scale far better. The recommended pattern is to buy a single copy of low-rarity units to fill the Unit Index and raise Summon Luck, then funnel every shard you own into Demonic units.
The commonly cited progression path pairs one tank with one DPS at each stage rather than upgrading a wide roster:
- Demonic Skeleton Archer (DPS) + Demonic Bone Guard (Tank)
- Demonic Skeleton Archer + Demonic Mighty Orc
- Demonic Hellfire Warlock + Demonic Mighty Orc
- Demonic Demon Lord + Demonic Skull King
Deathlock is the noted exception — it is reported to be a strong support without needing a Demonic mutation or upgrades at all. Unit stats and mutation multipliers are on the units and mutations pages.
Fuse upward, don't hoard low tiers
Lower-rarity shards can be fused into higher rarities. Because upgrades on your two carry units consume high-tier shards, a pile of Uncommon shards sitting unfused is dead weight. Convert upward once you have enough to make the exchange rather than waiting for a perfect moment.
Source note
The Update 2 drop-rate increase is confirmed in the official Roblox game description, but the developer never published the percentage — any specific multiplier quoted elsewhere is an estimate. Shard Storm's ×1.3 and extra-drop behavior come from community reporting and gameplay footage, not an official patch note. The progression path and Demonic-only advice reflect third-party tier list consensus rather than tested numbers on this site. See Update 2 for the full patch breakdown.
